Dear House District 24 Constituent,
You may have heard I am not planning to run for re-election this November.
It has been a humbling and amazing honor to have served you as your state representative in the Utah House. I have learned a lot and I will truly treasure the honor you have bestowed upon me for the rest of my life. I hope that I have held your confidence in my capabilities, and that I have aptly shown my commitment to you and your neighbors well.
Capabilities, confidence and commitment are important to me. After I complete the remainder of my term this year, I want to have whoever serves House District 24 to offer these qualities to me as a constituent.
As such, I am endorsing Jen Dailey-Provost as the candidate I believe will best serve this district going forward. Her ten years of experience as a non-profit organizational advocate on Utah’s Capitol Hill being the primary reason for my support; but, there are other reasons as well. You can get to know her better at her website: www.jenforutah.
I am not expecting Jen to be seen as an heir-apparent, her job over the next few months before Election Day 2018 will be to tell you why she is the best person for this position. However, I have had a number of constituents ask me who I am supporting out of the candidates who have indicated interest in the seat.
I merely want her to have the opportunity to convince you of her qualifications and intended commitment to serve this district. As such, I hope you will sign her candidate petition to assure her the opportunity to be on the ballot this year.
Please don’t hesitate to email me at rchouck@comcast.net or call me at 801-891-9292. I’d be happy to talk to you further about my plans and why I’m supporting Jen.
Warm regards,
Rebecca Chavez-Houck
